This is it – the final weekend of campaigning.
Throughout our incredible 20-month effort our team has walked, listened, and connected with thousands of District 6 neighbors about the future of our communities. Now it comes down to a matter of days.
From grandparents living with children and grandchildren under the same roof to make ends meet, to retired couples getting by, to young families just getting started, we’re fortunate to live in a part of San Diego where we all look out for each other as neighbors.
And while my opponent’s Downtown supporters with the Chamber of Commerce and developer elite punch down with desperate smears and outright falsehoods in the mailbox and on social media (visit my San Diego Union-Tribune questionnaire for my positions on a variety of issues), it will never temper my belief that our families, neighbors and District 6 communities are worth fighting for, and that your voices are the ones that matter the most.
The care and concern we have for our neighborhoods manifests itself in our town councils, community associations, planning groups, parks and recreation boards, and little league and soccer coaches.
Should I win, I’ll be relying upon you for the best stakeholder information for our communities. You will always have my ear, and you will always have my support.
I’ve learned so much in my months going door-to-door, and I’m confident every stop and every conversation I’ve had will make me a better, more effective councilmember. If elected my team is ready to go, and I’m eager to deliver the strong, responsive, granular representation our D6 Communities deserve.
If you can, could you chip in a little something extra to get us through these final days?
We’re going to walk, wave, and hustle every step of the way with the good news, good cheer and Democratic values that have been the hallmark of our effort. With your help, and your vote, we can ensure real middle class representation for District 6.
I humbly ask for your vote, and I hope to earn your support. If you have questions about anything, call me at (619) 805-6365.
