I hope you, your families, friends, and loved ones have been enjoying the holiday season.
Our family has appreciated our renewed time together the last few weeks, and it’s been wonderful to reconnect and move forward with so many new environmental projects and efforts.
But even as we look forward to 2023, I have some final business I need to attend to as I close down our 2022 effort.
As we prepare to ring in the New Year, can you help with a contribution to assist our committee meet our final financial obligations? We’re hoping to raise $1,500 over the next seven days to cover associated closing costs.

As I wrote in my November concession, despite stellar support from our campaign team and all our supporters, I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to bring a win across the finish line for our neighborhoods.
For example, in Mira Mesa, all 13 of our local planning group’s proposed amendments to the city’s new Mira Mesa Community Plan were jettisoned in favor of the original developer-driven draft, without delivering any of the needed transit or road improvements our community has asked about for decades. This is unacceptable.
Delivering leadership and real middle class representation remains an overriding concern, and the ongoing minimization of community planning groups, subversion of rooftop solar by the state, and increasing water rates just since the election should be a concern for every San Diegan. I will continue to speak up and serve as an advocate for our city’s forgotten and dismissed communities.
In the meantime, I hope to earn your support one final time as we move to close our committee and pay off our last campaign obligations. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for whatever you can contribute, and best wishes for a bright, prosperous, and joyful 2023. Happy New Year.
