Describing my remarks at the recent San Diego Union-Tribune D6 candidate forum as “informed and ready to represent,” our campaign was delighted to learn that we earned the endorsement of the San Diego Union-Tribune opinion page!
As the co-founder of San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action, and the Sierra Club-endorsed candidate in the District 6 race, I was doubly honored the Union-Tribune mentioned that my “particular focus on the environment” is “especially welcome.” I couldn’t agree more.
And I was pleased the U.T. noted in their endorsement that my “grasp of the issues” and involvement in our District 6 communities puts me “in a different league” from other D6 candidates.
Given that I’m the only D6 candidate who spoke out against the city’s bizarre Gold Coast Drive lane realignment and the rezoning of south University City, and who worked with Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer’s office to help secure funding for the Mira Mesa Epicentre, the U.T.’s conclusions shouldn’t be a surprise – my record of advocacy and results in D6 speaks for itself.
But to win, I need your help to make our voices heard. Can I count on your support today?
