Along with San Diego County Sheriff candidate Dave Myers and Team Tommy member Ilka Weston, we had an early start to the day on Monday, March 14th, lending a hand to the Rev. Shane Harris and his team with the People’s Association of Justice Advocates for their first-ever “Gas Me Up” free gas event at the Arco station at Waring and Zion in Allied Gardens, as we join ed other volunteers and advocates to pump hundreds upon hundreds of gallons of donated gasoline to working and unemployed San Diegans and those hit hardest by current gas prices – not to mention the sky-high cost of electricity, water, and sewage.
It was illuminating as always to connect with so many hard-working San Diego neighbors about the economic challenges we face, and to share the news about our Neighborhoods First campaign for San Diego City Council in District 6.
