Mira Mesa Neighborhood Canvass at Mesa Verde Park
November 5, 2022, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
This is it! Join us at Mesa Verde Neighborhood Park on Gold Coast Dr. in Mira Mesa this Saturday, Nov. 5th, at 10 a.m. for our final Saturday Mira Mesa neighborhood canvass of our Tommy Hough for San Diego City Council campaign.
As always, we’ll meet on the south (Gold Coast) side of the park, across from the Mariposa townhouse HOA.
If you haven’t canvassed with us yet, download the PDI app to your phone to log in and load your turf.
The Downtown establishment continues to send out sleazy hit mail pieces and well over $2 million of independent expenditure and political action committee (PACs) money to maintain the status quo in District 6, even as our working and middle class neighbors struggle to pay the highest electricity rates in the nation and the highest water and sewage rates in the state, with road repair and park maintenance funds now flattened by the city’s $86 million 101 Ash Street settlement and little hope of expanded transit anytime soon.
We need maximum affordability with new housing as neighbors are being pushed out of affordable rentals to make way for luxury upgrades or new construction. Newly-built developments are already far beyond the reach of neighbors who work for a living or go to school, and are unlikely to have any sizable parks to accommodate the needs of residents.
Our remedy? Talk with neighbors and share the news this last weekend to vote for Tommy for a change of direction at City Hall – and let them know we don’t support Downtown’s Trash Tax.
As always, bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and be sure your phone is fully charged.
Mesa Verde Neighborhood Park is located just east of Camino Ruiz and west of Mason Elementary School on Gold Coast Drive. You can also access the park from Flanders Drive on the north.
