Join Us for Our Mira Mesa Community Canvass This Sunday

Help support our Neighborhoods First effort in District 6 this Sunday morning, Feb. 20th, at 9 a.m. as we team with San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action for a neighborhood canvass in the heart of San Diego District 6 in Mira Mesa.

We’ll meet at the south end of Mesa Verde Neighborhood Park near the park’s “leaning tree” on Gold Coast Dr., just east of Camino Ruiz and west of Mason Elementary School. There’s plenty of room for street parking along Gold Coast.

If you haven’t canvassed with us before you’ll want to download the PDI app to your phone (we can help), and our team can train you to log in and load your turf. If you’ve never gone canvassing before, no problem – you can walk with one of our veteran canvassers first.

I say it a lot, but it’s no joke – the stakes are high in this election.

Downtown lobbyists and developers are about to pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into the D6 race to maintain the status quo, even as our working and middle class neighbors pay the highest electricity rates in the nation, the highest water and sewage rates in the state, our open space and Multiple Species Conservation Program (MSCP) lands are treated like placeholders and political chips to be bargained away, and our roads remain in disrepair without any hope of expanded transit anytime soon.

It doesn’t have to be this way. And as the economic center of the city, it shouldn’t.

Ballots will be going out in May for the June 7th primary, so we have a limited amount of time to build upon and reinforce our Neighborhoods First message with our neighors and friends.

We’ll see you at Mesa Verde Neighborhood Park this Sunday morning at 9 a.m. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat, and be sure your phone is fully charged. Thank you for your support, and if you’d like a lawn sign, send us your address and we’ll deliver one or have one for you on Sunday.
